CODY RESCUE CENTRE FOR TEEN MOTHERS

Counseling and Case Management

Emotional and Practical Support.

The Counseling Program provides individual counseling, information, advocacy, systems navigation, and referrals to other services. Counselors provide comprehensive, wraparound support and information to assist participants in making informed choices around pregnancy options, personal goal-setting, relationships, and other personal challenges.

At Cody Rescue Centre, every young mother is paired with a counselor who provides personalized support. Our counselors offer unbiased information and help young women make informed decisions about their health, relationships, and parenting.

They assist with setting personal and educational goals, working through relationship challenges, and connecting mothers with other resources they may need.

Our counselors come from local universities and agencies, ensuring that each teen mother receives compassionate, expert guidance as they navigate the many challenges of motherhood.

“My confidence quickly turned to worry as things started changing so rapidly. Thankfully my counselor at Cody centers was able to connect with me by phone and helped calm my fears.” – A Former Cody center’s Participant.

Housing Support

Securing a Safe Home.

Finding secure and affordable housing is critical for young mothers. At Cody Rescue Centre, we go beyond just finding housing—we ensure it’s a place where young moms and their children can thrive. We help them navigate rental listings, advocate on their behalf, and ensure they understand their rights as tenants.

Safeguarding a mother and a child

For those ready to live independently, we provide temporary housing and conduct surprise visits every two weeks to check on their well-being. We also offer conflict resolution services for issues with landlords and help ensure that necessary repairs are done, creating a safe, stable environment for these young families.

Breifly: Often, girls in third-world countries are forced into marriage or hard labor jobs before the age of 13. We advocate for the young-women in our community, and work to create local dialogue on behalf of the girls living in our village.

Our hope is to raise $8000 for the teen mothers shelter.

Through our life-skills training program and residential care—young women who we call “treasures” learn to tailor, make uniforms, cook different foods for retail, and receive business start-up training! With these new skills young-women are able to earn a salary which will help support them upon graduation from Cody rescue center for teen mothers.

Hospital Support

Care during Critical Moment.

When it comes to medical care, Cody Rescue Centre is a constant source of support. We accompany our young mothers to all antenatal appointments and ensure they receive the necessary medical care throughout their pregnancy. When it’s time to deliver, we are by their side, supporting them through labor and birth.

Our team stays at the hospital until the baby is born; often taking responsibility for vital documentation and ensuring both the mother and baby are well cared for. We don’t leave until we are sure that everything is in order, offering peace of mind to the young mothers we serve.

Resettlement Support

Rebuilding Lives.

For many teen mothers, returning home after giving birth is not an option. Stigma and societal judgment often leave them without family support. At Cody Rescue Centre, we help resettle those who can return to their families, working closely with them to ensure a safe transition. For those who cannot, we continue to provide housing and support until they are ready to move forward independently.

Resettling a young mother takes time, often requiring weeks or months of careful planning. But when it’s complete, we know that we’ve given both the mother and child a fresh start.

We know the best place for the teen mothers is being with their families, we work together with families to sort or identify their diffculties and tackle them together.
